George G. MacDonald, III

George was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA and attended the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double major in Finance and Risk Management. He later received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary. George spent over a decade with New York City based investment bank Brean Capital LLC, where he served as Vice President of Operations. In this role, he provided critical trade and sales support for a vast array of fixed-income instruments, including but not limited to treasuries, agency and non-agency CMOs, CMBS, CLO’s, corporates and mortgage pools. His extensive background in capital markets also includes leading the operational and technology build-out for specialized trading teams in a project management capacity. At Beacon Harbor Wealth Advisors, George leverages his institutional investment and operational expertise to assist in the execution and management of sophisticated investment strategies for clients. He also serves on Beacon Harbor Wealth Advisors’ Investment Committee. Aside from the financial markets and providing advice to clients, George enjoys golf, traveling, and staying current on Geopolitical events. George is dedicated to the inner workings of the Capital Markets and brings a rigorous, research-driven approach to the team’s comprehensive wealth management solutions.
