George has more than 20 years of experience providing wealth management advice and solutions. He received his B.A. in Retail Management from the University of South Carolina where he was a 4 year letterman in golf – also serving as team captain. After completing college, George was a professional golfer playing on various professional tours from 1984-1986. George became registered in the securities industry in 1987 with the Virginia based firm, Scott & Stringfellow, Inc. He joined Merrill Lynch in Virginia Beach in 1997. George and Jeremy journeyed to Wells Fargo Advisors in 2007, starting the MacDonald & Ingram Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. In 2018, he founded Beacon Harbor Wealth Advisors with his longtime business partner, Jeremy Ingram, and is the Co-President & CEO. George’s area of expertise includes: advising high-net-worth clients and corporate retirement plans. He also serves on Beacon Harbor Wealth Advisors’ Investment Committee. His volunteer experience within the community includes serving on the Virginia Beach Education Foundation Board and the Virginia Beach Vision Board. He also serves on the VB Home Now Board; an organization that serves our city’s homeless community. George was a 2018 Triton for the Virginia Beach’s Neptune Festival. George is also active in the golfing community with clients through various charity events. Outside of business, George spends time traveling with his wife Gwen and his two sons - George III and Christian. He is also actively involved with his church - London Bridge Baptist.
